Coke Farm was started in 1981 on a whim and single patch of strawberries. The beautiful fruit and eager customers gave Dale Coke a sense of the potential of organic farming. He started planting other crops and joined the newly formed Santa Cruz chapter of the C.C.O.F (Certified Organic Farmers).
A while back, Dale originated the idea of the “Spring Mix” that is so popular with Rainbow customers and workers. It was originally intended for high-end restaurants on both coasts but its overwhelming popularity with eaters necessitated an increase in production. Good thing for us.
Coke Farm is located just about 90 miles south of San Francisco, near Gilroy. We’ve loved watching Dale grow his operation into a valued resource and leader in the organic farming community. Check out some of the crisp, organic Coke Farm produce on your next visit.
