FDA to change the way you access your Dietary Supplements!
The Comment period for the FDA’s “Draft Guidance for New Dietary Ingredients” extended to December 3, 2011.
The Food and Drug administration has extended the time period for public comment on its Draft Guidance for New Dietary Ingredients by 45 days. The Draft Guidance as it is written now has the potential to profoundly affect the availability of dietary supplements. The guidelines ostensibly seek to ensure the safety of new dietary supplements being brought to market. However, opponents of the new guidelines claim that the FDA is only seeking to make new (and even existing) supplements prohibitively expensive.
