The Greater Good Food Fair will be held at Civic Center Plaza on October 26th. The Fair will feature speakers, live music, organic and regionally-produced foods from local businesses, cooking demonstrations, and a farmers’ market. Panel discussion topics will include Food Integrity in Our Local Systems, Social Responsibility: Pathways to Community Well Being, and Community Gardens Responding to Community Needs. A keynote address by Tezozomoc, National Defense Council’s Growing Green Food Justice Leader of 2013, will highlight the event. When asked why the time is ripe for coming together to raise the priority of food integrity and sustainability in communities across the nation, Tezozomoc positioned, “People are listening, our message is getting out and we want more to rally around us to help do more of this very successful work.”
At the Fair, participants will cultivate an understanding of the impact of their daily food choices and learn what they can do to support sustainable and socially responsible producers and organizations. The San Francisco grassroots coalition, Label GMOs partners with community leaders in celebrating success stories that nurture the future we all want: a more just and sustainable food system for all. Now more than ever it is important to raise the priority of long term well-being, connect Seed-to-Table, and celebrate San Francisco’s movement towards food integrity.
