Rogue River Blue

Filed under: gordon's minutiae, really special cheese — gordonzola @ 1:53 pm

Ha.  I have gotten out of habit.  I wrote this last week and forgot to post it!

The biggest cheese news right now is that the Rogue River Blue is back!  Theis is a seasonally-produced raw milk blue from the folks at Rogue Creamery. Wrapped in wine-soaked leaves, this is one of the best blues in the country.  Fruity, slightly boozey, creamy, rich, pungent, and strong.   If you haven’t tried this, it is an incredibly complex and memorable cheeses.  You know what, it’s not just one of the best blues in the country, it’s one of the best cheeses period.   I even served it at my 40th birthday party.

We have enough for a month or two.  It’s expensive, but a great holiday treat.

*A lot of folks are confused when they see “.coop”. It is a top level domain available only to cooperatives.  It’s administered through the National Cooperative Business Association.  If you see a .coop url, you know you are dealing with a real cooperative.

**They don’t really use that slogan.  It’s a Parrano joke.
